I hope that everyone had a decent fourth. We went to the riverfront for the fireworks with my Cousins Mandy, Amy, and Kendra, Jeremy, Dave, my Mom, and Uncle Pat. My Aunt Jane and Uncle Don were there too but up on another hill a little ways away from us. I stole these pictures from Mandy's Facebook.

Gap sent me a 20% off sale stuff code (SALE20) this morning. YAY! I had already been scoping some stuff that had gone into clearance so I decided to order it. Since I am boring and have no car I will share what I bought with you.

I had been eying these up since they added them to the site.

Red tee..it's a basic. Basics are good.

Bright pink 3/4 sleeved summer cardigan. The one that I live in is all stretched out and Finn ate some holes in it last summer when I was carrying him around.

Bright pink linen summer skirt. I am not a huge fan of shorts and wear a lot of skirts and dresses in the summer. Gap is one of the only places that offers stuff in petites for us short people.

Simple flats. I go through flats really fast since I tend to get the stink foot.

Another linen skirt in a different color. Just in case I have a non-pink day. |

It is FINALLY summer here! Seriously. It has FINALLY decided to become sunny and above 50 degrees. It is SUPPOSED to get into the low 80's here today. THRILL! Not sure what we will do since the Berry farm is open..so that limits our running around the yard a little for fear of being run over and annoyance of people looking at us. I am also without vehicle until Wednesday. Maybe I will take the kids and walk them into Cedar Grove to the Piggly Wiggly to buy a doughnut or something. Before 5, though..or everything in town will be closed. YAY for small town living.

I restocked my site! I added some Smell? scents. I have more that I need to add when I get the laptop back on Wednesday!

I actually had more to say but I forgot about 95% of it since I started typing. |

I don't have any awesome pictures for you but I do have a MAC Cosmetics code for 25% off. It starts today and lasts 3 days. The code is SUMO.
I got a lot done already and it's only 9:55.
I called Chrysler to get an estimate on whatever it takes to get these dammed low profile tires off of the car. They are $300.00 a pop and we have already gone through 8. They are crappy piles of shit. We blew one on Saturday and hopefully didn't damage the aluminum rim at all. We also have one with a slow leak. After every single Winter we have to replace at least 2 of them and then 2 during the summer. I have NEVER had such bad tires before!
I also called and got Daenen a dentist appointment. I am a shitty parent and he has never been to the dentist before. His front teeth are gross and mossy. I guess to my defense one of the reasons I never took him before was because of his ADHD. He would have thrown up on the dentist if he even touched the inside of his mouth before. He is a lot better now, though.
Then I called and left a message at the pool. I have to have Daenen's swimming session changed. I am a dumbass and scheduled that on top of summer school and didn't realize it.
I also listed some stuff on eBay.
Yesterday I restocked some of my website. I guess I am back up and running sort of.
Right now I am waiting for places to return my calls.
I played some of The Sims 3 yesterday and it wasn't as bad as my 1st impression. I am ok with it now. I just wish that they had more STUFF in the 1st one. They kind of rape you with the expansion packs.
Chris bought me Twister on Blu Ray so I can see tornadoes in hi def.
Oh! And Bathed and Infused is having a 40% off sale right now! |

I have been trolling eBay for some good finds for summer and so far I have found a few.

First I bought some Ojon Restorative Treatment since my hair is totally wrecked. I had a sample from Sephora and the stuff works really well. It's all natural and it's all oils. Very nice. I have been using it both as a treatment AND a styling product.

This is a cute Free people madras tiered skirt. I hope that it isn't TOO short. It's slightly mini but since I am short mini usually doesn't end up being really short on me.

This is a stone necklace made by Lucky Brand. Perfect for Summer...whenever it gets here.

This is another Free People skirt that I found. Black tiered tulle. I love Free People stuff. It has great detailing. The problem is that I can only ever buy it on eBay since it is too expensive normally. I don't mind my stuff being a bunch of seasons behind anyway.

Rupert Grint wishes you a great Thursday. Thursday is Chinchilla cage cleaning day plus I have to do a Post Office run and vacuum. If I get the chance I want to slap the second coat of trim paint on in my closet so that I can move some stuff back in. My closet is out of hand..and right now it is totally empty. Not easy to get dressed when your stuff is all over the place.

I think that I am going to order one of these things. |

[May. 24th, 2009|09:19 pm] |

I got my antique wicker couch upstairs FINALLY and I also got rid of the weird brown cushion cover. I found this burgundy comforter in my linen closet and slapped that on instead. Much better!

Froot Loops has been happy that we have been opening some windows lately. It has not been that warm, though.

Finn is just happy.

My hair is fairly wavy when I don't blow dry it....

I wish that this highlighting and pink stuff was not so high maintenance...cuz I do actually like it.

What if I do this and HATE it?

I am wearing these right now. |

I have buying a lot of clothing lately. I had saved up any sort of money that I got for Christmas and my birthday so that I could buy some stuff for summer. A lot of what I had last year doesn't fit anymore and I need to go through all of it someday and then list some stuff on eBay again. I SHOULD list what I have for eBay REALLY soon before I start going through stuff again, though!

I have Froot Loops in a sort of boot camp. The towel that her small box was on to catch stray litter has been removed. The bathroom carpet was removed where her other box is. All bedroom doors are kept closed during the day. She only has access to 2 throw rugs at night and only carpet when she is with me in the bedroom. Since she was only peeing on carpet or a towel directly in front of her box I hope that this might work. I think she needs to be retrained to some extent. She really hated the Yesterdays News litter that the vet had me use for her so that her spay stitches would not get litter in them at all. That's when she started peeing in front of the box. Maybe the litter AND the stress of surgery...who knows. Right now all I can do is try a bunch of stuff and hope that it helps her out.
I have also been looking around for new hair and thanks to Anthropologie I think that I have found it. What I have right now is REALLY high maintenance. I have to go in every 2 months for the color and cut since my hair grows super fast.

It has been really nice here the past few days. Warm! It has been the the 60's and lower 70's. Living really close to Lake Michigan brings our temperature down a lot from our more inland neighbors. We usually get cold winds off of the Lake. Nice in Summer but in Spring all I have to say is BOOOOOOOO!
Daenen's school called me the other day. I have to go in for his IEP pretty soon. They are dropping him from the school's special ed. program. He simply does not need it anymore. This school year he has not even once had to go to the Special Ed. room for any sort of extra help. He has come SOOO far since he started school. I never thought that he would be to this point ever. |

I am fairly certain that this weekend had it our for me a little bit. On Friday I had to get my cat put down. She has been sick for about 2 years and has progressively getting worse. Her medical issues were pretty much non curable and she seemed to be in distress so the vet agrees that it was her time. Very not fun. Also the other cat that we have, Froot Loops, has been having issues as well. She has been peeing in FRONT of her box and also chewed the fur off of her tail. I suspect that she has a UTI so she is currently at the vet that that they can do a few tests on her.

I got my jewelry pocket thing and I am really impressed with it. It is super sturdy and had more than enough pockets for all of my junk. I can find everything SOOOOO much easier now. If you have jewelry issues you NEED one of these! This one of from The Container Store.
Pretty soon I will be listing a bunch of junk on eBay again. I was trying some stuff on and a lot of what I have is too large for me now. I am prolly one of the few people who will say that they are annoyed with their weight loss because a lot of their clothes no longer fit. I NEED to get shopping SOON with my Christmas money so that I get get some things. I have NO idea of what sizes I am anymore!
Finn started calling "Nascar" ASSCAR! HAHAHAHAHAHA. I love kids! |

I have this issue that I recently realized that I had. I am SOO visual that if I can't see something I never use it. My jewelry is currently in a plastic jewelry box that I have had since college. I never use the stuff in there because everything is stacked up in there in baggies and I can't see it. I hope that this will help with some of that.
I went grocery shopping today so that I can make a white wine beef stroganoff over white rice.
I need to get some brown floor paint. |

AE had a 40% off code Saturday night and Sunday morning that must have leaked out. I ordered a few summer things from their clearance before they caught the coupon and changed it to "expired".

I finished painting the baseboards and around all of the doors in the bedroom this weekend. I should say that I painted the baseboard heating this weekend. All I have left now are the windows. I really want to get those done since my drapes came and I bought the rods this weekend. I still have to figure out how to get that done. I have shades up now and I think that I am going to have to paint around those and then when the rest of the windows are done take them down and paint where they were attached. Otherwise we are going to have full sunlight streaming in every morning and I don't like that idea!

I am getting really mad at the local Shopko. They STILL don't have my pieces in and my rain check expires soon. I might have to call them again.

Here is a picture of Rupert Grint for you to look at. |

[May. 10th, 2009|09:44 am] |

I keep having weird dreams about Rupert Grint...and also of being stuck in a nuclear holocaust. I get off of a bus that is filled with school people...college or high school maybe. Only 3 of us make it into an entryway that is possibly a theater. It's tiled with ceramic tiles, anyway. Then a blast goes through and fries the rest of the people on the bus. And the bus keeps on driving around even though it has one side ripped off and has half disintegrated people hanging out of it's gaping holes. Very nice indeed.
I have also been having a dream that I am back in college and have a small dorm room that I have to share with a room mate. My bed is way in the corner and I am arranging my things, I think. Except that they are already arranged. And my things are all from the 1950's.

I bought 2 strands of these flower lights for the bedroom at Target and also picked up my curtain rods.

This post is a little bit just to get my thoughts together.
I am getting a little bit frustrated with Shopko. I have one 7 drawer chest and two 3 drawer night stands of the same style on rain check and I called them and they were ordered but they are not in yet. They have been ordered for over a month now and the rain check prices are only good for 60 days.

My carpet is arriving tomorrow.
I have been painting trim. I have another section started. The second coat can go on tomorrow and then I can sand and start the next section as well. The worst part will be the window frames. |

I have been watching a LOT of Mona Lisa Smile while painting the bedroom woodwork. The movie plot is not at all original..it's kind of bad, actually. But I LOVE the sets and the costuming. I am obsessed with the 1950's.

Gisele Levy is my favorite character. She actually has a personality. |

Sooo...I came up with a less expensive way to re-carpet the bedroom. I orders this rug from Home Depot online. It's really awesome in person. The stones are raised up and the in-between parts are lower. It is cream, grays, and washed chocolate...but you can't tell in the pictures. It won't go to the edges of the floor...but that will be fine. Underneath all of the nasty flooring we have gorgeous pine boards. The house was built in 1883 so the unders of most things are really nice...but covered up by a bunch of 1960-1970 nastiness. So I am going to paint the existing floor with brown floor paint and then throw this wool beauty on top of it.

Now I need your help. I have new bedding as well and am wondering what color ned skirt will go with this, the new rug, beige walls, chocolate brown trim, and burgundy drapes.

I also think that I am going hang my HUGE antique Jesus print in a gilt frame in there. It's a piece of art. |

Okay. I am back now. Live Journal was not letting me onto the site for around 9 days. I had to finally email them and it turned out to be a routing problem on their end and they fixed it so here I am.
I have been cleaning and painting for the past week and that's about it. I have been super stressed out since apparently I can't handle change at all. Since the room has been torn asunder I have not been able to sleep decently in there. It's like I have forgotten how to fall asleep...so I end up on the couch on week days and in Daenen's bed on weekend when he stays with his Grandma in her room. Pretty much my OCD tendencies are catching up with me and making me miserable. Also I discovered that a cat was peeing all over the bathroom carpet. I decided to put out another box for them and to clean the carpet.but when I went to clean the carpet I realized that it wasn't worth it and had to remove the carpet. Now we have peeling off linoleum tiles from the 50's. The real kind that you have to WAX! They are SOOO nasty and stained and I can't stand it in that room anymore. I need to go and buy a carpet remnant when I have that cat pee issue solved.
I know that you want to know what I decided to buy with my Christmas money and Birthday money that I was hoarding.

I am an idiot and liked this entire outfit from AE so I bought the whole thing. How original of me!

INTERMISSION!

Brea Grant is just TOOOO cute!
END INTERMISSION!
Then I went and looked at Fred Flare and found a summer purse in their clearance.

Got some toast as well.

I have also been listing a lot of junk on eBay. Right now I have a TON of jewelry lots there because I cleaned out my jewelry hoard 4 times in a row until it fit back into my jewelry thing.. I did all of this while watching Mona Lisa Smile...4 times.

Gap Grass...a review!
I was able to go to the Gap at Bayshore Square Mall thing last Saturday to smell Gap's new Grass fragrance. It comes in a pretty 3.4 oz. size for $24.00 which is a pretty decent deal. The new Grass is not exactly the same as the old Grass that came in the 4 oz. MEGA sized bottle from the Nineties. It is a bit lighter in scent. Upon first spraying it on the water lily was more detectable than the old Grass. After dry down, however, it smells pretty much like the old stand by. Fresh mown grass in the summer. The kind of grass scent that you smell when your neighbor decides to mow the lawn at 6 a.m. on a hot summer day after you were up half the night sewing and watching Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. So the new Grass? Not as strong as the old Grass and not exactly the same..but pretty close. I bought a bottle!

Last Wednesday my Uncle helped me pick a few things up from my Grandfather's home. If you didn't know already he has been in a retirement home for at least a year now and my Aunt's, Uncle, and my Mom have been going through all of his belongings and house junk so that his home can be sold sometime in the near future. This is my antique wicker couch that I am in LOVE with. I always have been. It used to be in their cottage and was moved out of there when my Uncle (other Uncle) decided to replace it with something else. As it turns out my name was on it..YAY! it was then moved to my Grandfather's garage for pick up but he ended up needed it for a few years after his orange scary burlap couch took a dive. So..here it is in all of it's brown glory. The cushion currently is a big piece of foam that was made by duct taping 3 smaller pieces of foam together and then wrapping it in the ugliest king sized brown quilted bed spread known to man. That should be an easy fix, though. The scary brown color of the rest of it is going to stay, though, because the original paint underneath is showing through and I think that's pretty cool in a historical way. My Mom said that she can remember this couch being on my Great Grandmother's porch for awhile when she was a kid. So...it's pretty old.

My bedroom is a total mess because I am painting in there now. I have all of the walls done now including the ugly paneled one. I am currently waiting for my mom to paint the edges. She is really good at painting details and I really am terrible so she does edges for me so that I don't make the house ugly. Don't tell anyone that I am painting the bedroom beige, okay? The trim is going to be white and then we are getting burgundy black out drapes, some new side tables and stuff, and I already have the new duvet and stuff. It's a work in progress but it is driving me SOOO nuts that some nights I can't even sleep in there and end up on the couch.

My hallway is a total mess now as well because a bunch of the bedroom junk is living there for now.
After I get the bedroom done..the walls at least...I have to totally empty out my closet so that I can paint the ceiling in there. I am looking forward to that even though it will be a horrid mess. It will be a GREAT chance to get rid of some unused junk that lives in there.

I am going to be listing a bunch of stuff on eBay soon in order to raise the money to buy these BEAUTIFUL Fluevogs. I have had my eye on them forever. I am thinking that I will most likely get the red..but the black is nice as well.
